All things come to an end, even the amazing things, and this Conclave ranks among the best. Some things just take a pause, or in some cases, they take on new forms in new places. The latter I think is a part of the magic of Conclave. It doesn’t end so much as it adjourns.
For the time being, Conclave comes to a close and we return to our work and lives as before, but as ever, we are changed. It is so fulfilling to me to watch so many new friendships be made, and just as fulfilling to see old ones renewed, and I think on the many friends and sisters and brothers that we miss but are there in spirit also.
The wonder that comes with seeing so many great minds connect, share and grow is a great blessing for which no single individual can take credit for. That said, there is plenty of credit to go around to some very excellent and hard working folks, both locally and abroad.
First of all and most importantly- I would like to extend a huge thank you on behalf of the Apostolic Johannite Church to Fr Donald and Sister Maggie McNeely, Dave and the Rev. Subdeacon Cherry Russell, Fr. Tony, Clark Aitkins, Daniel Gomes, and the entire of St. Sarah’s Parish. I know I’m going to miss people in my thanks, as surely as I miss seeing all the faces as I write this.
Our thanks also to our many wonderful speakers- Dr. Karen King, HG Mar Thomas, HE Mar Timotheos, Greg Kaminsky, Dr. Michael Estell, Dr. Juliana Eimer, Clark Aitkins and Elizabeth Colburn-Moriates.
Thank you also and especially to Elizabeth Colburn-Moriates for opening her doors and home to us for the week with the excellent venue of the Theosophical Society in Boston
Our thanks also to our new members and clergy- for some of you it is the next leg on a journey of spiritual service, and for others, the first formal steps on the path in the Community of the Beloved Disciple, but each of us has been blessed to learn both from and with you, and I look forward to great things.
Lastly, my thanks to the Apostolic Council of the Apostolic Johannite Church and the rest of the clergy and members of the Apostolic Johannite Church for your dedication, joy, support, and hard work with so much both this week, the year past, and most assuredly in the year to come.
With this message, Conclave is now officially adjourned and we look forward to seeing you all in Denver, Colorado for Conclave 2017!
+ IOHANNES IV
