New Narthex: Thomas the Twin, Kansas City, MO

The Apostolic Johannite Church and the Archdiocese of Wisconsin are pleased to announce the formation of Thomas the Twin Narthex. The Narthex will serve the greater Kansas City area as well as surrounding locations in Kansas and Missouri. A site for in-person meetings will be considered when the pandemic has abated.

Operating under the leadership of Paul Fecteau, and assisted by its inaugural members, Matthew Copple and Aidan Kroenke, Thomas the Twin Narthex is planning to get its meetings underway with a focus on Gnostic text study, guest lectures and Service of the Logos ritual.

Paul brings a rich background to the chair of St. Thomas Narthex. His spiritual practice focuses on interpreting the metaphors of the divine that surround us daily and especially those in sacred texts. His academic background often comes into play: he earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Wichita State and spent over a dozen years teaching literature and writing courses, including eight years as a full-time lecturer at Washburn University.

He has also worked as an investigator, both as a contractor for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and as a Licensed Private Detective. He currently writes a column called “Tarot in the Aisles” for Vautrin magazine and occasionally publishes fiction and criticism in obscure journals.

The Narthex is currently planning and creating its web presence and when complete, the site will contain schedules and meeting details, as well as contact information for those who are looking to join the Narthex discussion, fellowship and practice.
