Montsalvasche Lodge for Friary Initiates at a Distance
Montsalvasche Lodge is the first Lodge of the Friary / Ordo Sacrae Flammae created especially to meet the needs of members at a distance. This means that even if you do not have local Friary Lodge or Initiator nearby, you now can still join the Friary.
As a distance Initiate of Montsalvasche Lodge, you gain full access to the resources and services created for our Initiates:

- Qualify at a Distance for Initiation and Degree Advancement (up to the II* of Friar Adeptus Minor) by Fully-Chartered Initiators
- Ability to attend the annual Members-only Conclave, a week of Workshops, Presentations, Networking, Initiations and Group Ritual.

As a distance member of Montsalvasche Lodge, you gain access to the "Members Only" area of our web site. There you will find on-line copies of all of your degree monographs, desktop downloads, reading lists, and more.
Members Only Mailing List
Join our private, members-only forum. Network with other Initiates to discuss Initiation, magic, the Friary and answer each other's questions. You will also receive all Order-wide announcements via this forum.
On-Line Degree Monographs
While all your degree material will be mailed to you in hard-copy format, we realize that it is not always convenient to carry your Friary Folder around with you at all times- and so the latest versions of the degree monographs are always available on-line for your ready access.
Qualify at a Distance
Once you have worked with, and assimilated the First Degree material, mastering certain magical techniques, and demonstrating that you understand the magical philosophy of the Friary, and your personal Friar Adeptus Minor, or Friar Adeptus Major mentor is satisfied that you have completed the Task of First Degree Friar Initiate, you will be issued a "dispensation certificate," authenticated by the Grand Lodge, which qualifies you for initiation and grade advancement.
You may use this dispensation at any one of our fully chartered Lodges, or Initiator. Alternatively, if you prefer, you may be initiated at the annual member International Conclave.
It should be noted that ONLY the First and Second degree Initiations may be so dispensed. New members accepted into Montsalvasche will automatically be considered First Degree members, and those granted a dispensation certificate from Grand Lodge for the Second degree will be considered Friars Adeptus Minor from that time- not the time of their physical Initiation- however, due to the highly specialized nature and state of being of the Third Degree, no one may pass through this veil before the exact moment of their Friar Adeptus Major Initiation Rite.
Initiations may be received at any time, and both First and Second-degree initiations may be taken at once. Thus with only a minimum amount of travel, you now have complete access to physical initiation to the Second Degree in the Friary / Ordo Sacrae Flammae.
The Annual Conclave
Gather together with Members, Initiates, and Adepts of the Friary / Ordo Sacrae Flammae at the special, weeklong annual Conclave with instruction, magic, and initiation opportunities.
Also, join with other Lodges and Commanderies at regional gatherings, like the recent event sponsored by the Ma'at Lodge.

The initiative is yours. The Friary / Ordo Sacrae Flammae is designed to assist you in the ways we have found to be the most practical, productive, and factual. Nevertheless, as versatile as the Friary may be, and as proud of it as we are, it is most properly understood as a tool. You are the one who must put that tool to use.
